When the temperatures dip into the 70’s, I start thinking about wearing boots.
I actually think about them a lot…even in the middle of summer. The boots I own, the boots of my past, and the boots I want to buy. I’m a deep thinker.
Here are the boots I want for my closet now that the season is ready for them:
1. The Chelsea
These rubber trimmed Chelsea boots from Loewe are the cutest. I love the burnt caramel and black and the big lug sole.
The trend in flat boots is VERY chunky and a little over the top for me. This pair has a great balance. The black toe and the horizontal break across keeps the look from being too Bigfoot.
As you can see, I already own these and they are so worth it – super comfy and neutral which means I am wearing these a lot!
2. A 70’s Vibe
We all have a black boot in our closet. As much of a workhorse as that is, I often find that the more outrageous a shoe, the more I wear them (at least for a season). They are fun and make you feel special.
This Codie bootie from Sam Edelman will dress up any outfit. I want to wear them with a pair of cut off jeans, but they will also be good with a chic black dress.
This is luxe at the right price if you are only going to do gold damask for a season or two. The Codie comes in over a dozen colors so you can go as wild or as classic as you like.
3. Such a Slouch
The Slouchy Boot has a place in my heart. I had a tan leather pair back in college (if everything old is new again, does that work for me, too?) and I wore them with everything. I felt so, so stylish.
This is definitely a trend I am looking forward to for fall, and this suede pair by Paris Texas is the one for me. The heel isn’t crazy high at about 2 ¾”, and it is covered in a faux crocodile for a little added texture. Now I need to decide if it is going to be the Angora (creamy beige) or the Taupe.
4. Rhinestone Cowboy
Who says I can’t be practical? This is a low heeled black boot, after all.
While the brand calls it a Chelsea, I think it ticks the cowboy boot box, at least in my world. The sparkly patent takes the style factor up by several degrees, and I am going to tell myself that this is a transitional bootie I can start wearing now. But I’m also going to be sporting them at the rodeo when it comes in March.
5. Give me a Wedgie
Speaking of a bad ass pointy black boot, this Crocodile embossed version from Schutz is so good.
The way the leather is molded around the wedge heel is gorgeous, the definition of elegance. I can’t imagine feeling anything other than strong and sexy in it. I mean at over 4” high, I’m not sure how long I can stand up in them, but you need to look good when you sit down, too. Right?
